Welcome to The Las Vegas Radio Control Club |
|
"The Las Vegas Radio Control Club turned 50 years old in May 2008! With AMA Chartered Club 972, LVRC hosts a number of events in this great destination city. Check out our Calendar Page for more information on upcoming events. Need to contact us? Just visit the ‘Contact Page’ and click on the name of the Club Officer you wish to e-mail - It’s that simple. Want to know what the weather is at the flying field? Have a look at the Weather Window for near real time conditions. Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at the Skyline Casino. Check our ‘Map Page’ for directions to the Skyline, field, local hobby shops and more. Our primary flying field pictured above and below, is the William Bennett Airfield located on the eastern edge of the Las Vegas Valley, just north of Sam Boyd Stadium. This premiere facility is a county park and open to all aircraft pilots who possess a valid AMA Membership. The field is open 365 days a year, weather permitting, and flying is permissible from 7:00 AM till dusk. Of course, visitors are always welcome and ample bleacher seating is available to see what’s going on. LVRC has a secondary field located in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area near Hemmingway Harbor. This field offers spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. We are fortunate to have world champion pilots in our club: Alan Szabo Jr. and Danny Szabo along with a great number of very talented pilots. Check out the Gallery pages for pictures and videos of members and their aircraft. If you are new to flying visit the ‘Learn To Fly’ page for some helpful suggestions. See you at the field. If you have questions or comments about this site please contact the webmaster." |
